Sustainable Business Philosophy
We as OPNET Technologies CO., Ltd., while pursuing growth and a better life, will pay more attention to how to enable the sustainable development of society and the environment when facing common crises such as climate change and global warming. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) evaluation is the basis for our future sustainable operation. We will leverage our own strengths, take ESG actions, publicize important concepts such as environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance within the company, and gradually transform them into the company's internal culture, decision-making mechanism and management model. Starting from our original intentions of product design, environmental protection, and caring for society, we gradually implement ESG actions, thereby affecting employees within the company and then expanding to partners.
For a long time, OPNE's MSAN/SVG has replaced the old No 5 digital switches, saving tens of thousands of energy consumption for telecom operators and doing its part to slow down global warming. Therefore, the company obtained SGS "Silver Level Certified Supplier" from Chunghwa Telecom in Jan. 2023. In the design of the next generation broadband switching and computing platform, the latest Merchant Silicon is used to achieve the least energy consumption with the compacted hardware design. Taking the heat dissipation system design as an example, compared to the total fan energy consumption of similar equipment from other manufacturers of about 120Watts, the total fan energy consumption of OPNET’s new product is about 20Watts! For a mobile network operator with 30,000 base stations, It can save 170.8MWatts of energy consumption annually! In the future, it can save telecommunications operator a lot of operating expenses and carbon emissions.
OPNET Technologies has set a goal of reducing carbon emissions by 40% by 2030, through energy-saving actions in daily operations, including electricity, water, product design optimization, and working with supply chain partners to jointly promote the zero-carbon emission plan. By effectively promoting various policies, we will achieve the 2050 net-zero carbon emission plan.
