ULC-1000AN MSAN: a next generation multi-service access network platform

The ULC-1000AN MSAN is a carrier class multi-service access platform that bridges the gap between the existing TDM-based network and the next generation IP-based networks. The flexible architecture design has evolved to accommodate customers' increasing demand for high-speed video, data and voice (triple play) services.

With more than 3 million subscriber lines have been installed worldwide, the ULC-1000AN systems are widely used in many public and private networks. The OPNET ULC-1000AN MSAN access platform's modular design provides customers with an easy path to upgrade their embedded copper plant to the future IP-based next generation network.

The ULC-1000AN MSAN provides a clear migration path from traditional services like voice to its flexible network uplink options, including support for both TDM and VoIP soft-switches. The ULC-1000AN architecture is scalable, ranging in size from 6 to 2000 lines per system and can be readily deployed into synchronous digital hierarchical (SDH) ring or IP-based Metro-Ethernet infrastructures. Broadband data services using digital subscriber line (ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+/G.SHDSL) technologies or Ethernet interfaces along with all traditional TDM srevices can be delivered from a single platform.
