The ULC-1000AN provides two types of E1 modules to implement E1 transmission interface. The E1X-XCVR has one E1 interface and the E1TX-XCVR module provides up to three E1 interfaces.
For area not covered by optical fiber or E1 trunk lines, the E1GS-XCVR module can provide the high-bit-rate digital subscriber line connection between CO and Remote sites by using one or two pairs copper wires.
The STM1-XCVR2E and STM4-XCVR2E modules function as a transmission link between the ULC-1000AN MSAN terminals. The STM1-XCVR2E module provides a 155M STM-1 interface and STM4-XCVR2E module provides a 622M STM-4 interface, respectively. Both modules also have a built-in FE or GE interface on the board.
The GE-SW module provides up to eight Ethernet interfaces, and two of them can be configured as Gigabit Ethernet optical ports. The design uses a plug-in type SFP transceiver in order to meet different distance requirement easily.
The Ethernet Transceiver Unit (ETH-XCVR) interfaces to a 10/100 Base-T electrical Ethernet port, transmitting and receiving units in the subscriber slots of the ULC-1000AN system, as well as other types of transceiver unit. The throughput of ETH-XCVR is configurable from 3 Mbps to 43 Mbps depends on TDM timeslot bandwidth required. The TDM bandwidth can be 30, 60, 90 to 660 DS0 timeslots; it’s adjustable and configured in step of 30 timeslots.
