The ISAP-2180 is a member of OPNET Technologies’ ISAP family of IP-based Integrated Services Access Platform. At 1.5RU, the ISAP-2180 is the industry’s smallest IP access platform and a perfect solution for service providers deploying converged IP voice, video and data services. Built around OPNET’s carrier-grade Access System technology, the ISAP-2180 delivers the same carrier-grade reliability and media flexibility offered by larger platforms in the ISAP family.
ISAP-2180 access solutions support fiber or copper Gigabit Ethernet as the uplink, to provide both ADSL2+ broadband data, and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) POTS telephony services over a single pair of copper wire.
ISAP-2180 has been optimized for the deployment of high bandwidth Fiber-To-The-Node (FTTN) applications, to support both Voice and broadband DSL over the existing copper local loop. The bandwidth of ADSL2+ could be up to 24Mbps downstream and 2Mbps upstream.
By leveraging bandwidth-efficient IP multicast and IGMP, and with advanced features including IP filtering, and DHCP relay, ISAP-2180 solution is optimized for video services delivery where QoS capability and security is critical.
ISAP-2180 access system is built around a fault-tolerant switch core designed to operate with 99.999% network availability. Combined with the standard IEEE 802.1dw RSTP and IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation technology, ISAP-2180 is designed to be a fundamental building block of a carrier-grade access and transport network.
QoS schemes for ISAP-2180 access system is designed to ensure that application performance and availability are not impacted with network growth. Features such as IEEE 802.1p/Q enable tiered data services for both residential and business/enterprise users.
